Register a system
Registration tells NimbusWiz about your system so it can scan and recommend accurately.
Registration doesn't install anything or connect to infrastructure yet. It's just gathering the baseline information NimbusWiz needs to ask smart questions during the assessment.
Before you begin
To register a system, have the system ID (in nimbus-[name] format), serial number, manufacturing year, current version, and location ready. You can't change the system ID after registration.
Add a new system
Registration uses a three-step modal wizard. To open it:
- In the sidebar, select Systems --> Fleet Management.
- In the content area, select Register a system at the top of the page.
Step 1: System Info
Enter the system's core identity and operational details.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| System ID | A unique identifier that must start with nimbus-, for example nimbus-lion or nimbus-phoenix |
| Serial Number | The physical serial number of the system |
| Manufacturing Year | The year the system was manufactured |
| Current Version | The current software version installed on the system. Select from the dropdown |
| Location | Where the system is physically located or deployed |
| Usage Type | The operational context. Options: Racing, Training, Transport, or Display/Retired |
| Status | The system's current operational state. Options: Active, In Maintenance, Retired, or Reserve |
| Description (Optional) | Any additional context about the system |
When the form is complete, select Add performance data to continue.
Step 2: Performance
Enter performance and safety data.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Flight Hours | Total operational hours |
| Max Velocity | Maximum velocity on a scale of 0 to 100 |
| Handling Score | Maneuverability rating on a scale of 0 to 100 |
| Acceleration | How soon the system reaches top speed, for example Fast, Medium, or Slow |
| Last Service Date | The date of the most recent service |
| Next Service Due | The scheduled date for the next service |
| Service History | The number of repairs or overhauls performed |
| Safety Certification | Select Valid or Expired |
| Known Issues | Any active defects or documented concerns |
| Compatibility | Supported upgrade paths or compatible enhancements |
To run a pre-registration validation check on the data you've entered, select Validate System.
When the form is complete, select Configure monitoring to continue.
Step 3: Configure
Set up monitoring preferences and review the registration summary.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable Real-Time Monitoring | Tracks the system's health metrics continuously. Required for predictive insights |
| Enable Auto Apply for Safe Upgrades | Automatically applies upgrades with confidence scores of 90% or higher. You receive a notification before each change. |
Review the summary, then select Register System to confirm.
NimbusWiz adds the system to Fleet Management and displays a confirmation.
System IDs must be unique across your organization. If the ID you enter already exists, NimbusWiz shows a validation error and doesn't save the system.
View your systems
After registration, Fleet Management displays your fleet in a table. Each row includes:
- System Name: Select to open the System Detail page
- Status: The system's current health: Healthy, Warning, or Critical
- Recommendation: A badge showing the current recommendation from the Modernization Advisor. Possible values: Performance Upgrade, Partial Modernization, Extended Operation, Stable Upgrade. Systems with no active recommendation show "Up to Date."
- Stability Index: A 0 to 100 score reflecting system reliability, shown as a progress bar
- Version: The current software version installed on the system
- Usage Type: The operational context for the system
- Flight Hours: Total operational hours logged for the system
To search by name, status, or version, use the search bar above the table. To filter by status, use the Status dropdown. To filter by usage type, use the Usage Type dropdown. Quick filter chips for Critical, Warning, Upgradable, and Up to Date are also available.
Row actions
Each row has two icon buttons in the Actions column:
- View Details (eye icon). Opens the System Detail page
- Run Scan (play icon). This feature is in progress
System Detail page
To open the full profile for a system, select its name in Fleet Management. The System Detail page has four tabs.
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Overview | System metadata in three sections, Core Information, Performance Metrics, and Service & Safety, plus recent alerts |
| Dependencies | A table of the system's dependencies, their versions, and their status: Current, Outdated, or Deprecated |
| Metrics | Performance charts for CPU, memory, and network activity over the last 24 hours |
| Logs | A log viewer with timestamps and severity levels: INFO, WARN, ERROR |
The page header also shows a Run Scan button.
Run Scan is a planned feature currently in progress. A Quirk Profile tab is also planned. In the meantime, quirk data appears in the simulation checkpoint and in the Modernization Advisor recommendation factors.
Upgrade Profile
The Upgrade Profile card on the System Detail page shows the operational profile assigned to the system. This profile influences upgrade recommendations. The available profiles are Stable, Performance, and Extended Operation.
The Flight Profile selector isn't interactive in the current prototype. The displayed value comes from the system's registration data.
Next step
With your system registered, review its assessment results next. If you enabled Demo Mode, assessment data is already populated. See Assess your system.
