Deploy an upgrade
After the simulation passes and a profile is applied, the Deployment page controls the rollout in phases, monitors progress in real time, and gives you a rollback option if something unexpected occurs.
Before you begin
Run a simulation and apply a profile on the Upgrade Profiles page. See Modernize a system.
Start a deployment
New Deployment is a planned feature currently in progress.
In the sidebar, select Deployment --> New Deployment.
The system status updates to Deploying in Fleet Management.
Monitor deployment progress
The Deployment page updates in real time as the rollout proceeds. The deployment moves through six phases.
| Phase | What's happening |
|---|---|
| Preparing | NimbusWiz is configuring the upgrade environment and staging the upgrade package. |
| Backup & Validation | NimbusWiz is creating a backup and running a final validation check. |
| Executing Upgrade | NimbusWiz is applying the upgrade to the system in phases. |
| Testing & Verification | NimbusWiz is running post-upgrade tests to confirm the upgrade applied correctly. |
| Monitoring | The upgrade has been applied. NimbusWiz is observing the system for stability before marking the deployment complete. |
| Completed | The deployment finished successfully. The system moves to active monitoring. |
A progress bar shows overall completion. Below the progress bar, the current phase indicator shows which step is running.
Preview logs
The side panel streams deployment events in real time. Each entry shows a timestamp, event type, and a plain-language description of what happened.
View Full Logs is a planned feature currently in progress.
Deployment Schedule & History
Below the active deployment, the Deployment Schedule & History table lists every deployment: completed, in progress, and scheduled. Each row shows the system name, profile, status, start time, and duration.
Roll back a deployment
The Roll back deployment button is available only during active deployment.
Select it to start the rollback immediately.
The deployment status changes from Rolling back to Rolled back when the system returns to its pre-deployment state.
Once deployment completes, the rollback button disappears. To revert a completed deployment, contact your NimbusWiz administrator.
NimbusWiz writes every deployment action to Audit Logs automatically: deployment start, each phase completion, final completion, and rollback. No manual logging is required.
Next step
After a successful deployment, NimbusWiz moves the system to active monitoring. See Monitor system health.
