Systems Overview
How do I register a system?
Registration uses a three-step modal wizard.
- In the sidebar, select Systems to open Fleet Management.
- Select Register a system at the top of the page.
- Complete each step:
- Step 1, System Info: System ID, serial number, manufacturing year, current version, location, usage type, status, description.
- Step 2, Performance: Flight hours, max velocity, handling score, acceleration, service dates, safety certification, known issues, compatibility.
- Step 3, Configure: Real-time monitoring and auto apply settings.
- Select Register System to confirm.
For a full walkthrough including field descriptions, see Register a system.
What's a System ID?
A System ID is a unique identifier assigned to each registered system. The required format is nimbus-[name], for example nimbus-lion or nimbus-phoenix.
System IDs must be unique across your organization. Once set, a System ID can't be changed.
What does the Stability Index mean?
The Stability Index is a 0 to 100 measure of system reliability and uptime consistency. NimbusWiz calculates it from scan results and updates it after each assessment.
| Score range | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| 75 to 100 | Healthy: the system is stable. |
| 50 to 74 | Moderate risk: monitor at regular intervals. |
| 0 to 49 | High risk: scan and assess immediately. |
What's Quirk Intelligence?
Quirk Intelligence is NimbusWiz's capability for learning and recording system-specific behavioral patterns over time, for example latency spikes under high load or metric drift during extended operation.
Quirk data feeds into upgrade recommendations and predicted risk assessments. It currently surfaces in the simulation checkpoint, in the Modernization Advisor recommendation factors, and in the Troubleshooting page.
A dedicated Quirk Profile tab on the System Detail page is planned and not yet available.
What's a Flight Profile?
A Flight Profile is a per-system setting that tells the Modernization Advisor your operational priority for that system.
| Flight Profile | Priority |
|---|---|
| Performance-focused | Speed and responsiveness gains. |
| Stability-focused | Reliability and uptime preservation. |
| Efficiency-focused | Resource usage and operational cost. |
To set a Flight Profile, open the System Detail page and use the Flight Profile selector in the Overview tab. The Modernization Advisor uses the new setting the next time it generates a recommendation.
The Flight Profile selector isn't interactive in the current prototype. The displayed value comes from the system's registration data.
What do the recommendation badges on the Systems List mean?
Recommendation badges appear on system rows after the Modernization Advisor has assessed the system.
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Performance Upgrade | the Modernization Advisor recommends a Performance upgrade profile. |
| Partial Modernization | the Modernization Advisor recommends upgrading specific components only. |
| Extended Operation | the Modernization Advisor recommends the Extended Operation profile for long-term support. |
| Stable Upgrade | the Modernization Advisor recommends a conservative Stable upgrade profile. |
Systems with no active recommendation show "Up to Date."
What are the tabs on the System Detail page?
The System Detail page has four tabs.
| Tab | Content |
|---|---|
| Overview | System metadata in three sections (Core Information, Performance Metrics, Service & Safety) plus recent alerts. |
| Dependencies | A table of dependencies, their versions, and their status: Current, Outdated, or Deprecated. |
| Metrics | Performance charts for CPU, memory, and network activity over the last 24 hours. |
| Logs | A log viewer with timestamps and severity levels: INFO, WARN, ERROR. |
A Quirk Profile tab is planned and not yet available. Quirk data appears in the simulation checkpoint and the Modernization Advisor in the meantime.
